Miss Ellen Collins

Dear Friend:

Will you commission James Bowser as a teacher for Richmond. He is the most advanced pupil of the Normal School - a good scholar and a good teacher. I put him into a school in the suburbs Nov. 1. and now desire the commission for him, in order that you may draw $10. for him, as that and what I can give from the Peabody fund is all he will get.

Will you also commission Aunie E. Alston for New Kent Court Ho. - an advanced pupil of the Normal. She also commenced Nov. 1. and the same remarks apply in regard to pay.

The same remark applies the cases of Roberta D. Scott and Harriet E. Preston whom you have already commissioned at my request. Their support is to be made up of the $10 from General Howard and what I can do from the Peabody fund. I will see that Reports of all these are sent to you.
