Rev. N. C. Brackett

The A.M.A. will draw $10. per month each, for the teachers at Lexington from Gen. Howard, which they could not do if our department paid rent on the same building. I will take the school up on my Peabody list, from the 1st of December [[strikethrough]] January [[/strikethrough]], which will give, I suppose, about $10 more each. If the A.M.A. does not draw rent for those teachers, [[strikethrough]] then [[/strikethrough]] it might do for us to take up that building. I do not think the people ought to be excused from praying altogether. It is good for them to pay, and the people of Lexington (with so many students there) must be as able as any in Virginia

I send you some of the vouchers. Have both teachers sign, so that both names may go on my list.
