Dear Madam

After a number of corrections of your rental account I have forwarded it, asking for $1080.  I understand "Average No. of pupils" as you do.  I asked Genl. Howard about the continuance of the $10 rental, and he answered, "It will be paid right along until otherwise ordered".  I suppose it will be continued while the money lasts that may be through next year. 

In regard to the Burbanks and Fredericksburg, I think that would be a very good and suitable place for them to go.  The Presbyterians (Dr. Hatfields Soc.) have been occupying these the present year and you would need to arrange with them.  As for calling it "Normal", it does not matter much what name it is known by.  It should be a school for the children of the city.  A normal school properly presupposes pupils of a certain degree of advancement.  Those are not numerous in Fredericksburg nor elsewhere, but a plenty of pupils are there ready and certain to put to the best use any opportunities that may be offered them.  Several colored teachers have already gone out from that school to teach in the country, whose preparation was not what it might have been
