Mr. Stanton Jasper

Dear Sir:

I have a letter from Henry Turpin saying that arrangements have been made for a lady to come from Maine to teach, and asking transportation for her. I am sorry to inform you that no transportation can be had. The Bureau has entirely ceased to give transportation to teachers: but I hope it will not hinder the young lady from coming. I desire very much to have her school started and will do whatever is necessary to aid in the support of it, and in the preparation of the school room.

Yours Respy
R.M. Manly
Supt Education

Mr. Turpin directed me to write to you.
