Miss K.R. Harper

I rec'd Mr. Turpins letter and wrote, as he directed me, to Mr. Stanton Jasper Goochland C.H. that no transportation can be had for teachers any more. The department at Washington has ordered all of that to be stopped.

I hope this will not hinder Miss Burbank from coming. I will extend all the aid practicably, and I will [[?]] commission and aid from some Society. I think it entirely safe for her to come out at this season of the year. I know her Brother and his wife very well. They have been teaching at Lawrenceville.

Are not you having any aid from any Society? If not I will see that something is done about it.

Yours Truly
