A.M. Newman

Dear Sir:

Yours of the 10th is rec'd. School-houses are everywhere wanted, but where the colored people have churches they are generally for school purposes, until the State shall be able to provide School-houses for itself. However, please give me definite answers, in the briefest manner to the following questions

1. What is the size of your church? Is it a frame building or logs? How near finished is it?

2d. What is the price of sawed lumber? What would be the cost of a school-house 24 by 30 feet, made in the plainest way - boarded up and down with battens on the cracks - not plastered inside.

Yours Truly
