July 26 9

Madison Wilburn

Sir:

Your letter of the 24th is recd. If Mr. Jennings taught only until the 11th of June, he ought not to be paid for the rest of the month. As there has been no school during the month of July, rent will not be paid.

I am not prepared now to make arrangements for opening the school again. I do not know Mr Lowrey, and therefore do not know whether he is a competent and suitable person to teach. We will try to arrange so that the school shall not be so much of a burden to you as it has been.

Yours &c
R.M. Manly
