Dear Nina:

I am sorry it has taken me so long to answer your letter. I didn't find Henshaw in the Faculty-Staff Directory, but a call to the Chemistry Department revealed that he is a graduate student there. I haven't been able to find out much more than that. In itself, however, that certainly indicates that he is a professional person, and also that he is pretty bright; this is a good chemistry department and they don't by and large accept deadheads into their Ph.D program. Beyond that I don't know how to proceed, since I don't know the group he works with and don't really know where to ask about his character. Do you want me to do more?

With all the best.

As ever,

Donald Kennedy
