Mrs. Elaine Kilbourne
6221 Akron Street Southeast
Washington, D.C.

Dear Mrs. Kilbourne:

You have been suggested to us by Dr. Keith Johnson as one who would be well qualified and might be interested in teaching chemistry to our first-year student nurses next year, in addition to your regular position in the high school.

As you know, our school will become the Washington Hospital Center School of Nursing, with a new class of about 80 entering September 9th. The teaching and residence units will be ready for occupancy at this time, although the opening date of the hospital will be somewhat later. There are ample classroom and laboratory facilities with the very latest in equipment.

The basic sciences - chemistry, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, sociology, psychology - are taught by D.C. Teachers College faculty; hence employment comes thru the Teachers College, but we aid in selecting the instructors.

If you are interested in becoming part of our teaching staff, and devote several hours each week ton this, we would be pleased to have you come to see us. Please call and make an appointment with me or Miss Moser.

Sincerely,
