Dr. Carhart
RE: Elaine M. Kilbourne

You will probably get reports concerning the quality of her teaching ability, her facility in interesting students in chemistry and evidences of her willingness to keep up-to-date from others. I can attest to all this, and more. She is not only an excellent teacher, but is an excellent person who deserves your serious consideration. I would have more teachers like her.

NATIONAL ENGINEERS' WEEK
FEBRUARY 22-28, 1959
ENGINEERING...FOR THE AGE OF SPACE

[[/commemorative pin with pinback]]

ENGINEERS
SCIENTISTS
and
ARCHITECTS
DAY
FEBRUARY 25

"A week-long commemoration of the engineering profession focuses national attention on the contributions of its members. These contributions are being recognized by the awards made to a young engineer, applied scientist, and architect judged as outstanding by his professional associates. But there would be no engineering profession without the devotion and ability of the teachers of our children. It is therefore fitting that on this day we also honor the teachers in our community in whose hands lies the real future of our profession."
