Ana. High Memorial

A very beautiful and impressive memorial service honoring Anacostia students who gave their lives for their country in World War II was presented by the student council May 27 in the school auditorium. Mrs. Kilbourne, student counselor sponsor, was ably assisted by the major choral group and members of the cadet corps. The invocation was delivered by Rev. Henry Hafermann, Chaplain Andrews Air Force Base.

Afterwards the parents and then friends of those honored viewed an interesting display of their pictures and a brief history of their military service. The service was concluded with a Memorial tea and a visit to the lovely rose garden, where roses of every hue, each dedicated to the memory of their sons by parents, bloomed in riotous profusion.
