Miss CM[[?]] Putnam: I wrote you the 11th. You had not recd that, I presume, when yours of the 16th. was written. Nothing, of course, can be done at present, in regard to the title to the land, as I understand the case. If there is any one who can give a title, I think it would be best to ignore the pretended gift and buy the land. When we put money into a building on another man's land we are in his power.

But while the Bureau lasts, I think we can manage to maintain our right to the use of the building, even if the Colored people should succeed in getting title for church purposes. My suggestion, in the former letter, about moving the building, I presume, has no value, from the fact as I understand from yours that the building was well advanced before the Bureau added anything.

I send you blanks for Peabody money for Nov. & Dec and for next session. I shall not be able to send more than $5 per month, as I only have a pittance to distribute this year.

Your &c
