Rev. Joseph Walker

Dear Sir,

Your of the 20th is recd. I wrote Miss Mack on the 21st of July last that no further rent could be paid her by the Bureau after the month of June. This was written expressly to save her from continuing her school with the expectation of receiving aid from the Bureau. I am sorry that she should have continued with such expectation, especially as it is necessary that rents and other expenses should be pre engaged. I can only expend money after having obtained permission from Washington for future not past expenses.

Miss Daniel writes us that you will call on me soon. I shall be very glad to meet you. My office is at 605 [[Brose?]] St.

Respy,
R. M. Manly
Supt.
