Dear Sir:
Miss Bartletts Bill for Repairs rents &c $104.50 will be paid.

The bill for rent of building at Keysville Charlotte Co (Wm. A. Thompsons school) for Sept. & Oct. cannot be paid, as the rent for those months has been paid to him some time since.

Mr. Corey has spoken to me of a want of perfect understanding both on your part and his, in regard to the rent which I am paying on his school building I will explain. Thirty Dollars per month has been by me (and Gen. Brown before) since the opening of the school as rent on Mr. Corey school building. This entirely a different thing from the $10 per mo. "Rental" paid from Gen. Howards office on each teacher &c. But where actual rent is paid as in this case, Gen. Howard does not pay the $10. on each teacher, because that is paid under the name of Rent also. If both were paid, there would be
