Sir:

The only assistance I am able to render is $10. per month, and that only in case where a school has an average attendance daily of 30 pupils or upward.

The principal support of teachers generally comes from Charitable Associations at the North, but these are not able to do more than they are now doing. If you conclude to teach you will let me know when you begin &c.

Dear Sir:

I am anxious to have a school established in your midst, but the rules I am under do not allow me to expend money in building a school-house until the teacher and teachers support are provided. It would not be right for me to build a school-house to stand empty.

As soon as I can find that a teacher will be provided and supported, I will do all I can for you.

Yours &c
