M.E. Shearman
Act.

Yours of the 24th just read is clear and satisfactory, but I hope to do a little better for you. I write by this mail to Genl. Howard requesting the transfer, without cost, to your Ass'n of the Danville building (on your securing a lease of the lot) the transfer to date Jan 1, 1870. If there is no legal obstacle in the way this will be granted; and your rental asst. for Oct.-Dec. will omit the Danville teachers indirectly as well as directly. This will be sixty Dollars better than your proposition.

The case of the rented buildings must stand as proposed by me and acceeded to by you.

I write as soon as I hear from Genl. Howard; and you will please write as soon as the lease is secured.

Your friend,
R.M. Manly
