Sir: This is in reply to yours of the 28th Dec. in which you wish me to get you a "good virtuous female teacher" and promising that the people will give her good board and lodging. I have found such a one. It is Miss Mary Conyer of Charlottesville - a free-born colored girl of very light complexion. She has been prepared to teach in a most excellent school at Charlottesville. She has been accustomed to a good home, and I do hope you will see to it that she has a good home among you. I hope you will have the school-house all ready and comfortable, and have the school begin as soon as you can, and you must see that she has at least 30 scholars, or I cannot pay her salary. As soon as you get this write to me just how she shall get to your place - what river landing she shall stop at, and how she will get from the landing to you.

Yours &c
