W.P. Lucas:

Dear Sir :

I should be very glad to visit your school, and still hope to do it, but time fails to visit all the schools I wish to. Have not stopped at Gordonsville yet.

The Bureau depends upon the societies to make out the salaries of their own teachers, and where the Bureau pays rent to teachers, it is to those who have no society to depend upon.

However, as your society does not take care of you, I will do the best I can and allow you $10 per month from Jan 1. Affairs are settled up back of that.

Yours truly,
R.M. Manly

You should report your school on the last day of each month
