540 0 3a00 February 19th 0 [[?]]Col. John G. Chandler Chf. Q. Master, Dist. Va Richmond, Va Colonel, I have the honor to request that the frame buildings erected by the Q.M. Department at Farmville, Va. for a Mess. house and Rake. house, may be reserved from sale, and such steps taken as shall secure, from the Hon. Secretary of War, the use of said buildings for a school-house for the children of Freedmen. The Confederate barrack building at that place, now used for school purposes, being in such a state of decay as to be untenable. I am, Colonel Very respectfully Your obt. Servant R. M.
