Dear Miss Gardner

I was glad to be able relieve you your anxiety and that of Mary Conyers mother. Immediately on receiving your letter, enclosing Mary's, I sent Mr. Jones, my Asst. Supt. to her relief. He went Monday and returned Thursday this week. He found her at her station at work. Mr. Carter had carried her out. I paid her bill at Mr. Carters $10. and gave her $5., and since Mr. Jones return have sent her a supply of books. I shall pay her $12. per month from March 1st, and shall not charge the $10. spent at Carters wharf against. She will have her $5. to pay back and also for the books, but she will sell the books for as much as they cost her.

She bore herself well at Mr. Carters, was quite a favorite in the family, also with one of the daughters and had captivated one of the sons! [Who will mingle a little fiction with these poets and make a story worth reading!]

She is happy in her place and I think will be successful. We always have a vacation of a week commending with "Good Friday" - the 15th of Apl I believe.

You should have one, of course, but suit yourself as to the time.

Yours Truly
R.M. Manly
Supt Ed.
