March 28
Miss Clara Sean
All the buildings belonging to the Govt. at Farmville are to be sold at Pubbie Auction on Friday the 8th of Apl. your school house included.
The military will surrender their base of the land on the lost of April and some time must be given for the removal of the building. I have tried, in vain, to obtain a base of the lot on which the new (meso-house) building stands; in which case I could have had that reserved for a school-house and fitted it up for future use. The Bureau will come to an end in June, and of course after that can hold neither land nor buildings; house it is necessary to close out our affairs. If you wish to continue your school until the end of June, and can obtain the use of ground on which it stands until that time. I can, at the time of sale, make the condition that the building shall not be removed until the last of June. [I shall not be surprised if the owner of the land obtain an injunction against the sale in which case the matter goes into the civil courts]. I think you had better be prepared to close school with the end of April - or a day before.
I give this timely wording as the best I can do.
Yours Truly
