Mr Daniel Hector
No. 310 "L" St, near of Washington D.C.

Sir, The following copy of my endorsement sent to Washington, will give you the facts connected with school house at Painterd Woods viz The school house in question was built mostly at the expense of Mr. Painter, aided by the Bureau, through Bvt. Lt. Col. S.P.Lee, on Mr. Painter's pledge that as soon as he obtained a clear title to the land. He would deed the school house and site to Trustees . This pledge Mr. painter assumes one he will keep, and he expects a clear title from the count soon. Meanwhile he will instruct Mr. Belany to offer no obstructions to the free use of the school house by the Freedmen
Yours to
