Encloses Schedule of Schools and Rental Accounts for Quarter ending June 30th 1869. Wishes to be informed if the Association are to have the rent continue, and whether for the next three months.|Richmond, Va Aug 16th 1869
Respectfully forward to Bvt. Maj. Genl. O.O. Howard, U.S.A. Commissioner approved, for one hundred and fifty (150) Dollars, being one hundred and twenty (120) Dollars less than amount charged. Difference caused by failure of total average attendance to cover the amount of "Rental Account," and by several schools, for which rent is charged in June, being closed in that month.  R.M. (L.S. 607. 2d Vol/69) Taken from file and filed with Vou 4, Ab. D, Sept 1869.|Richmond, Va. Aug 9th 1869.  States that he has just visited the localities of Beaver Dam, Green Bay and Bethany, in Hanover Co., and find that in each of these places it is desirable to have schools started, therefore, requests an appropriation of $100, $80 and $80, respectively, to enable the freedmen at the above named places, to complete school houses already commenced.|Richmond, Va, Aug 12th 1869  Respectfully forwarded to Bvt. Major Genl. O.O. Howard, U.S.A. Commissioner, Approved.  R.M. Manly Supt of Education.|

In the fall will have their teachers to be more careful with their reports, &c. Send a copy of the 4th & 5th month reports as they have them|   |
