This seems to be the colored peoples view of a case concerning which the Genl Supt of Schools wrote me, June 10th, that "final action would be taken by the Commissioner". States that he has established a School at the above named place under the auspices of the Am Bapt H. Miss. Society, he now has 96 scholars, Also, that the freedmen in that vicinity are temperate and industrious, and have purchased a lot for school purposes. In their behalf he solicits aid to the amount of $500. to erect a suitable building on the lot. |   |
