Supt. Ed.

Sir
In reply to yours of the 20th I have the honor to state that the repairs are for ceiling over head and Strengthening the walls to stop the crevices between the logs of which it is built. Also for supplying Benches & a few writing desks or tables. The expense will exceed $50.00

The House and Land is owned by the Freedmen who are now having a Deed made of the same to Trustees of their own selection for School purposes. They are struggling hard in their extreme poverty, increased by the severe drouth, to sustain the school. The school has a good attendance and good improvement is manifest

Yours Respectfully
Wm. P. Austin
