[[stamp]] STATE OF VIRGINIA, BUREAU OF R.F. & A.L. REC'D. MAY 22 1869 [[/stamp]]

I do not expect to return to Warrenton another school term. The situation of the people, here is a precarious one and the school cannot be sustained with every chance is given to the night school.

Henry Williams is a deacon in the church and he is ever ready to claim the house for protracted meeting.

They have had these meetings every month with but one or two exceptions since October and until I complained to Col. S.P. Lee (who sent an agent here to protect the school) we were disturbed every week or so. I respectfully - earnestly urge you to write a full explanation to the people and let them know that a school next term will not be thus disturbed. For I do assure you that the patrons of the school think little good will result from a transfer of this property to Henry Williams who governs the other trustees and who can only read a smattering of scripture and not able to write one word

With much respect and desire for the right
I remain your obt servant
