Sir:
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 8th inst relative to the construction of a School-house for Freedmen in the towns of Bristol-Goodson only divided by the State Line of Tennessee and Virginia.

As the main object to be accomplished is the erection of a school-building for the benefit of the colored people, the same to be paid for from an appropriation by the Commissioner. I am under the impression that
