Corry May 28 1869

Dr Sir
Will you oblige me by seeing that Genl. Howard [[crossed out]] has [[/crossed out]] receives the inclosed letter if he is in or about Washington as will he there soon?

I have not kept myself posted in reference to his position, or whether the Freedmens' Bureau is altogether abolished-

If the Genl. cannot look into the matter, will you not try to gather me the information I seek through other channels?

I am not attending to this thing as a mere matter of business I feel interested and desire to see justice done.
Truly Yours
Warren Cowles

Hon. John W. Douglass
