Sir:

I have the honor to transmit herewith an appointment of Mrs. Elizabeth Dodge of Utica N.Y. as Missionary to Mecklenburg County Va to teach a colored school.  And would respectfully ask that you will furnish her transportation as per enclosed letter.  There is a good school room in Boydton and they need another teacher very much as the school is very large.
