Boydton Va
May 20th 1869

Rev R M Manly
Supt of Education
Richmond Va

Sir:

Your favor of the 17th day of May is before me, and in answer I have the honor to state that Mrs Elizabeth N Dodge will teach through the Summer and Fall and will depend on tuition, and a Northern Society for her salary. The colored people can pay something and a Northern Society has already offered to pay ten Dollar ($10.00) per month for her support. She is needed either at Clarksville, or Boydton. And we could find plenty of scholars at both places for another teacher.

Trusting you can furnish her transportation. I am &c
Very Truly
