Sir, 
I have the honor to report that I this day visited the Industrial School, under charge of Mrs. Parker, in this city, and found the same located on Frederick Street, near the Rodgers Battery.

The building, is a small, one story frame, containing some five (5) very small rooms, one used as a kitchen, one as a conservatory, one as a sitting, dining and school room, the latter is about 10 x 12 feet.  

I regret to say that I found no pupils whatever, unless I except a cripple child, cared for by Mrs. Parker. Mrs P. informing me that this was a day on which her scholars or protogés did not attend, be at my suggestion proceeded to visit a number of localities, in which she said she furnished employment, in each case what most attracted my attention and comment was the remarkably untidy and dirty appearance of the houses
