Thus the land was sold on 28th of April, & they have been by the new purchaser ordered to move the house, & being surrounded by those who are oppose to the School, they have not any place to move it to as yet.  You ask to know whether or not there had been a house erected upon the lot. I answer, there was in which I have taught School two winters. –

But my School has to be close for the present but I can not say for how long, since the sale of the land the Colored People here are very much aroused. But they feel as the government has aided them in building the house they will not suffer it to be taken from them by the foe. Now Sir I hope you will understand the whole affair.
