I was otherwise too much engaged to continue the school I closed it about the last of May.

Another reason for not reporting, though I taught more or less - nearly every day in one or other of the school, was that you wrote me that Superintendents were not allowed pay. The Reports I made to Mr. Logan whilst I was continuing the school, (Mr. Neil having gone to the Russel Grove - Mr. Craig's school) were taken from the Daily Record. They are not now at hand - I being away from my office. If he reported my teaching in June it was by anticipation - I having not given him notice that I had closed the school. I have however during the year taught continuously about five (5) months, as extra work - in addition to preaching &c
I hope this explanation will be satisfactory. I am sure that Neither Mr. Lyon nor I intended to draw from the funds one dollar - not earned - or contrary to rule & order.
