Sir:
Lieut Ayers of Yorktown, complains that school buildings at Yorktown and Macgruder are not used, and are going to decay, - intimating, also that you have been written to repeatedly on the subject in vain.
Please report what you know of these buildings, and, what, in your judgement should be done with them.
Can schools be started in them again by some northern society, or by formation, of a local society, to whom the property could be transferred on trusted deed. (They are now, on lands owned by private individuals.)
