I have bin teaching the colored children of Richmond County and Westmoreland county for the year of 67 and 8 and had to rent the school houses each year by order of Lieutenant Bugby which was Superintendent of the school; the amount of the rent which I had to pay for the year 67 was 25 dollars and the rent which I had to pay for the year 68 was 15 dollars for which I have not received any pay, although I had to pay that amount of my private purse. Therefore I wish you to forward the money to me if you please as I am in great need of it, or write to me and inform me how I am to get it.
I am your humble servant, Aphia Yeatman.
