Memorandum of an agreement made and entered into between Cabele & Peatross attorneys in fact for and acting for and in behalf of Willis M Seu (?) Guardian of the minor children of Wm. H. Innclall (?) dec'd, of the town of Fanville, and A. H. Jones Superintendent, acting for and in behalf of the "Friends" Association of Philadelphia and its vicinity for the relief of colored Freedmen:"witnesseth, that the said parties of the first part herein have rented to the said A. H. Jones Superintendent or to his successor or successors in office, for the year 1870 commencing on the 1st day of January and ending on the 31st December 1870 a certain parcel of land being a part of "Monument Hill" in the town of Fanville, VA. on which is situated the "Freedman's" School House and the teachers' houses and necessary buildings attached and belonging thereto, with an additional space of twenty feet of ground adjacent to and around said buildings with the privileges of egress & regress to and from the same.  In consideration of which said rental the said A. H. Jones for himself, his successor or successors in office, and for and in behalf of the Association aforesaid had agreed to pay to the said Cabele & Peatross the sum of Seventy Five dollars per annum, to be paid in four equal or quarterly -installments pay $18.75 on the 1st April- 1st July- 1st October and 31st day of December 1870 respectively.  And it is further agreed between the parties that at the expiration of the rental or lease aforesaid that said Association shall have the same right to remove said buildings as the Government now has, or should determine to exercise, and none other.
