not wish to delay this report. I have not made up the "rental buildings pr month" not knowing how you wish that done. I understood both Genl. Howard & yourself to say that we are to have "$10 pr month for every 30 avg. attds" & you thought we would receive $5 pr month for each new school, from the Peabody Fund. Without the schools not reported, I make the

I hope this may be correct and that you may be able to pay for some of our schools the $15 pr Quarter from the Peabody Fund. We can get very little money from the freedmen in your state this year, and without this help from you, I do not see how we can continue our schools.
