Bureau R.F. and A.L.
Office Superintendent of Education, Virginia,
Richmond, Va., June 10th 1870

Bvt. Major Gen'l O.O. Howard USA
Commissioner

General,
I have the honor to request authority to rent the following named places for school purposes, viz:

[[6 columned table]]
| Owner &c | Location | Class | Rent per mo $ | Rent per mo cts | Remarks |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| C.M. Williams | Abingdon, Va | Room | 10 | 00 | From Feb 1st 1870 |
| K. Cummings | Abingdon, Va | Room | 10 | 00 | From Feb 1st 1870 |

The above named persons (teachers) were transferred from the N.Y. Br. F.U.C, to the New Eng Br. Feb 1/70, with the understanding that they were to be paid ten (10) Dollars per mo, each, rent, direct, and that the society was to claim no "rental" for them. By an oversight this has not been done, hence this request.

Yours respectfully
R.M. Manly
Supt of Ed
