Dear Mother,
This week has been quite active. Last week end we were to attend a film showing from some French who had been in Mexico and New York; we received a mimeographed invitation. We assumed that all American students were invited. But when we arrived, not in our best clothes of course, at the Hotel we found quite a choice company: Madame Plinlin, wife of the mayor & former premier of France, the wealthiest industrialist's wives, local businessmen, [[strikethrough and a very fe]] American consul people, and a very few students! They were sociable, and films (amateur) were shown until 1:00 with 3 grand intermissions with big rich cakes, soda, & beer available. I got acquainted with a consular wife and have briefly visited her since. Quite an affair. And, the following day, we were given a boat tour of the fort, 2 [[bouve?]] [[lenst?]], with a local dance at the microphone.
We have also along this time, with all new camera, to an evening including dinner on this coming Saturday. The father of one of my teachers is a main host.
Yesterday a classmate asked if we could put in traveling American girls, which we did. They were used to hostils and came completely prepared.
