England (so far) & the tweeds there very nice for men. We got Jack a tailor-made jacket for $25. Shoes are similar in price to ours. Coats for women are rather sombre & somewhat cheaper than ours: for $100 you can have one of the best coats in town, fur collar & all. I am tempted. All stylish wool garments like sweaters, skirts, ties, etc. come from Italy (even in England). So we wait till we go to Italy (which will be before long)!

English driving seemed worse than any we'd seen. So far it hasn't been terrible here, tho' the Paris truck drivers seem hell-bent to sideswipe you. The car is fine & very easy to handle for Jack, I haven't tried it yet.

Last Sunday we drove into the Vosges, an area of high hills or low mountains about 20 mile to the west. Next week we'll try the Black Forest, which is about the same distance in the opposite direction (I think).

Such are details on what it is like to live here, which is currently still very fascinating to us, we hope also interests you-

Affectionately,

Doris-Jack
