in French, and I'm sure our tips were not too large; possibly too small for the cabin steward. We tipped on the basic of our guide and our tablemaster, a British couple. They were a very entertaining pair. He is a barrister, a big red-faced man with a small moustache & gleaming small eyes, and he flirted with every girl on the ship before his wife, who didn't mind at all. She was a small blonde, a painter (portraits) and a great social asset to him. Through them we met quite a few other passengers which they collected, and we took off for them full cigar & cigarette rations (duty free).

We met an American who was going to teach English in French schools. He gave me the Paris address of the hiring agency. He will teach not more 12 hours a week. I am much interested. Would you please find me Radcliffe diploma & send a copy of it to Barbara in Paris at once? It may be in the wooden box up attic. My Illinois diploma is in the box taken from the shelves in bedroom if you can't find the other.
