January 19

Dear Mother,

Today Jack took me on the weekly laundry and shopping expedition - because the roads were icy he drove. Then I attended class (German) and saw Mrs. Sobotka. Everybody was very kind.

On Monday next I have the math exam in the a.m. and the German exam in the p.m. Russian comes on the following Friday. On Tuesday I will start on the big physics translation job, which I will do preliminary work on in "odd hours" this week. All exam worry will be over sooner than I like to think!

There are several inches of snow on the ground and the weather is fairly cold, but we have nowhere to travel.

Take care of yourself.

Love, Doris
