Dear folks,

Your package arrived the day before yesterday, and if there's nothing but a check in it, it is very carefully wrapped!

Last night we finished off our Christmas cards and enclose a specimen. We have not bought presents for the Chicago people yet; they usually tell us what they want and have not yet done so.

I am thinking of buying a table-sized tree and having a small party this week end for various people at which we will make decorations and Chinese folded-paper animals. We haven't had anyone over for a while.

The last half of the big translation got sent in yesterday. I have two physics Professors waiting on me but will not rush to do their work. After all this, we may have Jack's thesis done elsewhere -- it is so close to exams. Any time I put in on it would be much more profitably spent in translations. I do make about $2.50 an hour that way.

There were a lot of mistakes, which if reread, could have been avoided.
