Last night we went as usual to the French group and stumbled along for ~ 1 1/2 hours in French. Tonight there is a conflict. My Russian club gives a movie and the Film Society meets. I go to the Russian event, Jack hasn't made up his mind yet.

I can't think up a great deal for Christmas yet, but probably some no-seam mesh hose would come in handy for me. I don't wear hose much now but anticipate wearing them more after Jack becomes a lofty Ph.D. & travels, & nylon materials are supposedly not so good in Europe. Along the same line, some more nylon socks for Jack would be good; the heavier, longer variety if possible because of the cooler interior temperature!

When we heard of Dad's trouble with the radiator we again were glad to have an air-cooled engine. Oh, the car situation by the way is very interesting. We will get a new car in Europe, [[strikethrough]]perh and[[/strikethrough]] or perhaps here, when we return (& cheap car in Europe), and there is such a fine variety to choose from these days. Great things are written about the Corvair here (tho' in its first year one must beware), and in Europe the Peugeot is an excellent car, also there is a fine Swedish car and an interesting to see English one, all of about the same class. We can't make up our minds.

Love,

Doris
