hope you will like. This killed most of Sunday. This week end we will go up to Chicago. On Saturday I will buy a decent typewriter, one for keeps instead of these semi-miserable typewriters we've been having: with scientific notation a recent model, and all I require. Much time is wasted by having an inadequate typewriter, and if I get the job (for which I recently applied) paying $5/hour for Russian work I will want to produce as well as save effort. Also, Jack is doing his thesis now.

Evanston was badly hit by a tornado recently, as Marguerite may have told you.

Dad, would you send the address of the National Geographic? I want to send for a map.

It is too bad that Lois is leaving. Give her our best wishes, that we will miss her too.

It is the morning of Friday. Last night the Russian Club, of which I am Secretary, sponsored a Russian film- a fairy story, and collected almost twice as much as the film cost; so we'll continue. I as Treasurer have all the money hidden at home...

Love, Doris
