Dear folks,

It is exceedingly hot here today and we will go swimming this afternoon. We got back from Chicago yesterday afternoon. Up there is was cloudy and rainy and the wind blew in such as manner as to [[crossed out]] blow [[/crossed out]] move the cold water in to shore, so it was too cold to swim (60 degrees). We went to Ravinia with Marguerite to see a ballet. Ravinia is an outdoor theatre (with a roof only). We also took downtown evening pictures of Chicago. On the route up we visited the Lipkins and had a good visit there.

I have been busy translating an article for a physics fellow (a $50 job) and expect to finish it this week. Last Friday I was flattered to be asked if I would submit a time bid on translation of a 500-page mathematics text. I said 9 months, which will probably be much too long, but it was nice of them (govt.) to ask.
