Jack has set his prelim date for Feb. 25, a Wednesday. On the following week end we will probably go to Chicago.
This weekend our social activity will consist of a Physics' wives' potluck supper on Valentine's day. I bring [[strikethrough]] [[/strikethrough]]  vegetables for 8-10. Next week there is a Radcliffe meeting, a social at a member's home. The club here is very informal & has little to do with fund-raising, chiefly because wives of students and (mostly) teachers here don't feel much like contributing to another college. Several top physics department men married Radcliffe women, & from my own class there is a girl [[strikethrough]]  who is [[/strikethrough]] married to a somewhat older man who is a big shot in Chemistry.
Tonight we have what is a very [[strikethrough]] great [[/strikethrough]] unusual treat, a steak I picked up on sale-big, thin, round steak which we've had one other. (sale) [[strikethrough]] one [[/strikethrough]] of [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] that was very good. 
We have relatively warm weather now, [[strikethrough]] all [[/strikethrough]] the ice is almost melted, the mallard ducks in the vivarium across the street
