Dear folks,

We've had another (smaller) ice storm and more cold weather. Looks as if when it melts the court will be a pond. Jack doesn't have galoshes but I guess he'd better get some rubbers!

The Russian business is certainly booming this week. I have done a 4,000 word ($40) soil science article (it waits typing) and found a short ($5) article for the researcher next to Jack on Monday (done). Today a professor asked me to translate another short article. This is a new "customer", I am glad to see. I will do it before tomorrow, probably. I try to be very speedy in work done here.

Classes begin tomorrow. We will start in Russian by reading Gogol's "The Overcoat."
