Dear folks,

We're glad you were not hit by the storm. Chicago is still suffering, it seems. I'm glad we're not traveling anywhere and I am sorry for all the students who did travel over the holidays. The "court" is an ice rink still, and yesterday evening I saw a little boy of about 10 skating merrily along as if he had been traveling that way for blocks - and he could have!

Jack's prelims are something like Dad's Floras -- it's always just a few more weeks. However it will be soon. It's not a question of his passing now, but he'd like to pass moderately well. All the people in Frauenfelder's group have passed badly without exception - yet. It's strange.
