Doris M. Blake being duly sworn says:

When my husband died on Dec.31,1959 he left a will giving me the bulk of his property but willing to Doris Ullman, his daughter, $5000. He knew very well that I would look after her if she needed money. I put my checking account in the Old Dominion Bank, later named the First Virginian Bank, in my and Doris Ullman's name, as you can see on the enclosed cancelled checks, because I wanted her to have access to the money in case anything happened to me. She never contributed anything to this account, it is all my money. The checks she drew were all gifts from me to her except the 3 with a clip on them. They were what I asked her to buy my municipal bonds with ($37,000) as she has indicated on them. A year ago in July 73 I dropped Doris' name from the double checking account because she had been drawing out money without telling me and I made out checks for money that wasn't there in consequence and was fined for so doing. I wrote and told Doris that I didn't like to do it and that if at any time she needed the money I would send it to her, if she asked me.

In the past I have given her large sums, as when I sold my husband's home place in Massachusetts I gave her what I got for it, nearly $20,000. In addition for a number of years after she left Jack, I gave her the interest on all my savings accounts, and then one year when she had a nervous breakdown and couldn't work I supported her till she was well again. Jack Ullman will tell you how I have given her money over the years.
